The Inside and Outside Bets

The Inside and Outside Bets

There are two main types of bets that you can choose to use when playing on the roulette table: the inside and outside bets. Outside bets have relatively smaller payouts when compared to the inside bets because your odds of striking them are high. Just by looking at the table layout, you can quickly identify the type of bets that have been staked. They are; red or black; odd or even; 1 to 18 or 19 to 36; dozens, that is, 1 to 12, 13 to 24 and 25 to 36. And finally, the column, this is a vertical line that has 12 numbers.

Different from the outside bets in terms of the payouts and odds, are the inside bets. When it comes to inside bets, if you choose to make a straight up bet, then you will have laid your entire stake on that one “lucky” number. You may also choose to split your bet by laying your stake between two lucky numbers; this is called a split bet. There is also the street bet, where you can place your bet on three numbers that appear in a horizontal line on the wheel’s layout. There is also the “square” or “corner” bet. This is a bet that is placed where four numbers interconnect. In the basket bet, you can place your trio bet on 0, 1, 2 or 0, 2, 3. And lastly, the six line bet, this is a bet that is placed on two “streets”.
